Shutter Speed explanation.

Shutter speed refers to how long the shutter stays open. The longer the shutter remains open, the more light is let in. A fast shutter speed captures the image quickly, so the amount of movement (and blur) captured within the image is reduced. This is good technique for sport photography as the subject would be moving at speed. A long shutter speed allows more light into the lens, which is a good technique for creating light drawings.
