Documentary Photography and Photojournalism
Dom Mccullin is a very famous war photographer. He takes photos of war and the after effects of war as we see in this photo. This photo is called Shaped By war and I interpret this title meaning that everyone and everything is shaped by war, even if your not in a country thats at war, we’re all effected. This could mean the soldiers that die and the families it destroys just for some selfish person or group. I think Don Mccullin has captured that some people try to be happy and just think positively. For example in this photo they are playing instruments and singing. But some people stand on guard protecting their family and possessions and then some hide behind, keeping their head down. In this street scene you can see people dead in the road , smoke and graffiti. The graffiti may show corruption or maybe a civil war.
